Don’t forget to recycle this Christmas

9th December 2019

The festive season will soon be upon us and so will the traditional waste excess from wrapping paper, food and bottles.

But rest assured - if you are generating more waste than your bins can handle, help is at hand.

All your extras like biscuit and sweet tins, Christmas crackers and cards can be put out for recycling in clear, open bags or cardboard boxes. However, for safety reasons, glass bottles and jars should only be placed in black boxes.

Surplus food waste including sprouts and turkey bones can be left out in the kitchen caddy as well as the food waste bin.

If you still feel you need more space, free food caddies and liners will be available from council reception points including the Witney Town Centre Shop throughout December and January while stocks last.

Residents are reminded that small electrical items such as mobile phones, hair dryers and kettles can be recycled by simply leaving them out in black boxes on recycling week.
