Pick Pockets

Chipping Norton Neighbourhood Team are asking members of the public to be aware that there are pick pockets operating in the Town. Today an elderly person was approached by a female who was asking for them to sign a petition and needed to see a signature. When the victim produced identification, another female appeared from nearby and also started speaking to the victim and caused a further distraction. It wasn't until later on the victim realised they had their money taken. This occurred outside the Town Hall between 12.45 and 1pm. Police have been informed that this has also occurred in Witney and the surrounding areas. If you have any further information, please contact police on 101 and quote crime reference 43200022129
